Yes, Virginia, There's Art at Firefly. Have a project you've been dreaming about since last year? Well, take those dreams to reality! The Art Grant Application is here in a Word Doc format, and it's ready for you to fill out and send back to 2010grants (at) fireflyartscollective (dot) org .

Last year Firefly gave almost $5,000 in art grants!

The Art Grant Applications are reviewed by a Grant Review Committee. If you're interested in being on the grant review committee, send an email to 2010grantreview (at) fireflyartscollective (dot) org We review the blinded applications, and discuss how they are:

• interactive/participatory
• original/creative
• feasible
• service to community
• general awesomeness

Time table for Art Grants:

Applications are Due April 1st at 11:56 PM!

Grant Review Meeting April 6th or 7th

Notification will be given April 15th (that's right - it'll hopefully brighten your day after you finish your taxes)

Brief Excerpt:
Firefly is excited to offer a grant program to support and promote your interactive, community-based, collaborative, radically expressive creations. Proposals can include installations, performances, 2D and 3D works, fire art, activities, or other participatory and interactive projects. Only projects that meet these criteria should be submitted. For example, a sound project (band, DJ, etc.) must include an interactive component or additional performance aspect to be considered. Individual theme camps will not be funded, but proposals for projects/events placed within theme camp areas are welcome to apply.
